Meridian Cardiac Rehab and Imaging

Our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, an outpatient service of Ocean Medical Center, provides a range of recovery and post-recovery services to speed your recuperation, minimize your symptoms, increase your cardiovascular endurance, and improve your quality of life.

Cardiac rehabilitation is recognized as an essential factor in recovering from heart disease, and consists of medically supervised exercise, nutrition counseling and education programs that are intended to strengthen the heart.

In order to be admitted to the cardiac rehab program, you'll need to get a physician referral and possibly take an exercise test. Your physician will prescribe your program according to your individual needs and health care protocols.

You may be eligible for cardiac rehabilitation if you:

• Are recovering from a heart transplant, heart attack (myocardial infarction), coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG), valve surgery, angioplasty (PTCA), or atherectomy (DCA).

• Have angina pectoris, hypertension, congestive heart failure (CHF), or cardiomyopathy.

• Have cardiovascular risk factors, such as smoking, obesity, stress, sedentary lifestyle, high cholesterol and triglycerides, diabetes, or electrocardiogram abnormalities along with any of the above diagnoses.

We work closely with you, your family, and physician to help in your recovery and return you to full function and your normal daily routines. Our facility is open Monday thru Friday from 8:30am to 5pm.

In our cardiac Diagnostics(imaging) department we provide walk-in, no appointment needed, outpatient care for EKG and Holter Monitor services.  Additional testing including Echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound are by appointment only as they both require insurance authorizations.
